What We Do

The Office of Accountability, Assessment, and Evaluation seeks to assist schools and district staff through the following:

  • Providing school level support in district accreditation; state mandated assessments; state academic, promotion, retention and accountability policies; and related local and state level policy requirements.
  • Providing district level support relative to data analytics for strategic initiatives; demographic student data inclusive of enrollment data and student attendance zones; and competitive grant coordination and evaluation.
  • Providing community stakeholder support for research and information requests involving research projects for graduate student research; data to support and evaluate school-based volunteer organizations; and national data collection and research related programs.

Cognia Accreditation Standards

Cognia External Review Team will interview »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË remotely through Zoom every six years. A multi-member team will evaluate the system’s adherence to the Cognia Performance Standards for K-12 School Systems.

STANDARD 30: Learners’ progress is measured through a balanced system that includes assessment both for learning and of learning.

»Ê¼Ò»ªÈË utilizes an assessment program for all students who access the general curriculum.Ìý Metrics related to district benchmark assessment programs are tracked through the in alignment with the school system’s strategic plan. Test content is aligned to the standards adopted by the Louisiana Department of Education and taught in the »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË Parish curriculum.Ìý This data is used to inform and evaluate goals for student learning targets as well as the »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË School System’s Strategic Plan and other district and school level improvement plans.

In accordance with the policies found in the local pupil progression plan as well as BESE Policy Bulletin 1566, the Accountability office supports the implementation of during the school year and summer remediation programs at the elementary school, middle school and high school levels.

School administrators and school test coordinators are provided access to data systems with an ID and password by the Accountability Office. All users must have a Security Oath on file for the current year.
